Jeudi 14 mai 2015, à l’ombre d’un tilleul argenté, Vincent Dénapoli sirote son expresso. La journée s’annonce radieuse sur Paris ; sa vie de musicien de jazz est sans nuages, surtout depuis qu’il a rencontré Helen, œnologue de talent.
 
Pourtant, un attentat à Damas va bousculer son quotidien. Du Moyen-Orient, un certain passé refait surface et le souvenir de Clara, un amour de jeunesse, commence à le hanter. Pourquoi la DGSE l’appelle-t-elle un beau matin ? Et que s’est-il passé à Lyon il y a vingt ans de cela ?
